writing year recap letters
| |||
|
Many people dread reading the holiday recap letter full of pontification from the "perfect" family. Here are some tips to make sure yours doesn't sound over the top.
- Don't brag! A few mentions of travel, accomplishments or new purchases are okay, but keep them to a minimum. - Talk about something that inspired you this year. Perhaps a great book, movie or CD. - Describe something truly funny that happened to your family (the more self-deprecating the better). - Speak to the things that made you grateful this year. - Praise someone outside your family that made a big difference in your life. - Share an idea that would benefit your recipients, like a wonderful genealogy website or an amazing recipe. - Lastly, make sure to proof your letter carefully! |
